Don’t let 12 feet of snow shut you down.
When a major snowstorm hit, Fitzgibbons Agency was able to keep on working. Fonality PBXtra Call Center Edition saved the day. Employees could work from home, seamlessly, never missing a call, and they were able to close a huge insurance deal despite the closed roads and epic snowfall.
Business cannot stop, despite Mother Nature’s best efforts. Being in the insurance business, John Fitzgibbons, owner of the Fitzgibbons Agency, believes in proactive disaster planning. Little did he know when he deployed PBXtra Call Center that his choice of IP-PBX phone system would save the day when a real weather disaster hit. Oswego, NY is notorious for enduring weather that does not affect other nearby communities. Its “snow belt” location requires Fitzgibbons Agency to operate even when the environment says it shouldn’t.

How do I transfer a call to someone's voicemail?
1. While on an active call, click and hold the call details within the Personal window
2. Drag the call to the voicemail icon attached to every contact within the Contacts window
3. Release the mouse button and the call transfers immediately into the target user's voicemail
How do I perform a blind transfer?
Most IP Phones that Fonality sells support the ability to perform a blind transfer. Regardless of your model of phone, blind transfers are performed by the following actions:
1. Press the Xfer key or the Trnsfr key located either on the LCD as a 'soft' key or as a hardkey physically on the phone
2. Dial the target Extension
3. Press the Xfer key or the Trnsfr key once again before the other party answers the phone
Polycom SoundPoint 320/330 Instructions
These two phones work a bit differently:
1. While on a call, the "Trans" softkey will be on the screen. Press the button under it, then a new menu will appear on the screen. It will have the options "Normal", "Cancel" and "Blind".
2. Choose "Blind" and enter the extension/phone number. The call will then be sent and the Caller-ID will be the one of the party calling in. You do not need to choose the "Trans" key a second time.

Polycom phones support speed dial configuration via the phone's interface.
Configure Speed Dial Keys
1. Press Menu

Customers commonly wish to speed dial Park. Once you setup Park as a speed dial on your phone, you can quickly transfer callers to Park via the following sequence:
1. Press the softkey Txfr (may be labeled Trnsfer on some versions of Polycom firmware)
2. Press the Park speed dial key you previously configured
3. Listen for the Parking extension
4. Hangup
5. Inform the destination party of the parked extension
6. That person should dial that extension (e.g. 9001) from their own phone to reconnect with the caller

The Value of VoIP: Century 21 Franchise Gets Results with PBXtra
With a move on the horizon, Century 21 The Castle Company, a Century 21 franchise, opted to replace its cumbersome Meridian system with a VoIP system. Its choice? Fonality's PBXtra, which resulted in a great price point, easy installation and maintenance, and more productive agents. Century 21 The Castle Company is a Wylie, Texas-based franchise of Century 21 Real Estate LLC, the franchisor of the world's largest residential real estate sales. The Castle Company has been in business since 1985 and serves the Dallas and Fort Worth market. In 2006, the company was preparing to move to a new location and decided to upgrade its phone system at the same time.
Wanted: A VoIP Solution
"We needed a way for our customers to feel closer to their agents. Our choices were to upgrade our existing phone system or look for new technology," said David Barnhart, owner and broker. The Castle Company's existing phone system was a Meridian switch with dedicated lines that was older, cumbersome and lacked many features. As a result, the company decided to shop for a new solution.
Barnhart had a technology background and a solid knowledge of VoIP, and decided to look into using VoIP for the new facility. This week we met with a customer that currently has Internet and VoIP services with a CPE based IP PBX phone system. Customer was purchased by another company that is moving and wants to combine all three sites with an IP based Telephone system. Our solution was to us LightBound Server Collocation services. LightBound was going to locate customers IP PBX Server in our Data Center and provide T1 to each location to connect with PBX and the Internet. This allows three sites to be connected and share one phone system and gives them the ability to add future sites.

What's New at the Data Center by Mike Booher As is the nature of our business, we take our data center security very seriously for your protection. If you have visited the data center in the past thirty days you will have noticed we have implemented some changes. This change will be convenient for you and still maintain the integrity and security of the data center floor. We now offer you the option of registering with our bio-metric hand scanner system. This will allow you to enter/exit the data center within the timeframe of your visit, providing you the flexibility and convenience to leave the data center floor to use the bathroom, make a phone call, or just get some fresh air! If you have any questions please don't hesitate to let us know. The front desk or Network Operations Center technicians can explain how it works, if you choose get you registered with the system which takes about 15 minutes to get the process started. |
