What's New at the Data Center by Mike Booher
As is the nature of our business,  we take our data center security very seriously for your protection.  If you have visited the data center in the past thirty days you will have noticed we have implemented some changes.   This change will be convenient for you and still maintain the integrity and security of the data center floor.

We now offer you the option of registering with our bio-metric hand scanner system.  This will allow you to enter/exit the data center within the timeframe of your visit, providing you the flexibility and convenience to leave the data center floor to use the bathroom, make a phone call,  or just get some fresh air!   If you have any questions please don't hesitate to let us know.   The front desk or Network Operations Center technicians can explain how it works,  if you choose get you registered with the system which takes about 15 minutes to get the process started.

VoIP PBX Phone Systems

Thursday, November 18, 2010 by Kate Rance
With consumer companies such as Skype and Vonage, VoIP is all the buzz these days. What is VoIP? VoIP stands for “Voice over Internet Protocol,” and in its simplest form means you can make telephone calls using your Internet connection. This has the obvious benefits of saving money on phone service, but also offers additional benefits to businesses that use VoIP-enabled phone systems.
VoIP Phone Systems Reduce Phone Bills

The primary benefit of a VoIP Phone System is the ability to make VoIP phone calls, saving up to 70% on phone bills. When businesses aren’t ready to make the jump into a purely VoIP phone service, phone systems such as Fonality PBXtra can be configured to use VoIP selectively for designated calls, such as intra-office, branch office, and international calls.
VoIP Phone Systems Mean Advanced Features

VoIP Phone Systems enable new and improved features that weren’t possible with traditional systems, such as unified messaging (integrated voice/data applications) and support for telecommuters and branch offices. Fonality PBXtra incorporates these VoIP Phone System features plus more. Fonality PBXtra also has web-based administration, proactive monitoring, disaster recovery, HUD presence management, CRM Integration, and FindMe with Boomerang Mobile Integration. And, as Fonality PBXtra releases new features, our customers with support contracts will receive these new features automatically.
VoIP Phone Systems Enable Network Simplicity

VoIP phone systems let businesses use their existing data network for both computers and telephones. In fact, each work station only needs one Ethernet cable, and with built-in Ethernet switches in IP-Phones, the desktop computer shares the one Ethernet drop and plugs right into the phone. This may seem like a simple benefit, but often reduces hefty cabling fees for new offices, and allows offices with existing cabling upgrade to VoIP-enabled phone systems without re-cabling.

Light Bound can be your Virtual Service Provider. We help you answer that email and return the telephone call without worry.

LightBound is your Fonality Authorized Reseller for trixBox Pro Editions for VoIP PBX solutions both hosted and premise based IP Based Telephony with Enterprise, Call Center and UAE (SalesForce and SugarCRM integration) editions.

LightBound, your Virtual Service provider, can combine your managed servers hosting, Shared Storage server, voice and data services to provide you with a seamless Cloud Service that is economical and provides the business continuity that all businesses require regardless of their technical expertise.

LightBound is also expanding. Be on the lookout for our new state of the art 47,000 sq ft. Data Center coming out of the ground and available for occupancy in first or second quarter of 2011.

Scale and LightBound announce Scales new NO5 1.5TB Storage Solution with SAN/NAS capabilities

Thursday, November 18, 2010 by Kate Rance
Scale Computing’s N05 StorageNodes are a unified clustered architecture of both SAN and NAS arrays delivering enterprise features at an affordable price for the SMB market.

The N05 is the ideal solution for entry-level storage. With 2- 500 GB SATA disk drives, a single node stores .5 TB (1TB Raw) and has capacity to grow into the petabyte range. The N05 StorageNodes can also be mixed and matched with Scale’s S-Series StorageNodes, delivering a flexible, scalable solution for your growing storage needs. To add capacity, simply add nodes to the system. Data is automatically striped and mirrored across the cluster delivering migration-less scaling

The N05 includes enterprise-level features at no additional cost and is a true all-in-one solution at an affordable price.

Enterprise-Level Features included:

    * Snapshots
    * Replication
    * Thin Provisioning
    * Storage Pooling
    * Operates with NFS/CFS/iSCSI
    * No single point of failure

Intelligent Clustered Storage

All of Scale Storage Nodes’ are built on Scale’s own ICS Technology, which reduce your costs, add convenience and increase control over your storage needs.

Increase Control

ICS is a true scale-out architecture. It uses software to create a global name space across all nodes in the cluster, thus creating a single cluster with virtually unlimited scalability. The N05 StorageNode allows scalability by as little .5TB per node at a time. Prevent under-utilization and over- provisioning by purchasing only the amount of storage you need when you need it. Additionally, ICS contains its own block replication system. Each node contains the information necessary to access all data blocks simultaneously and can assume responsibility for any other node in the entire cluster, providing transparent fault tolerance at all times.

Reduce Costs

All Scale Computing StorageNodes include features and software expected for enterprise-level storage. The N05 Series provides the capacity needed for small-to-mid-size businesses without sacrificing features. It is also compatible with the S-Series as a need for larger capacity presents itself. Additionally, unlike controller-based systems that typically are programmed to read only nodes of a particular density, Scale’s ICS can accept nodes of multiple densities to the cluster. Nodes purchased today will work with nodes purchased in the future, making the nodes future proof.

Please make sure to keep on calendar LightBound's next Lunch and Learn in September 2010. Topic will be Scale Computing along with LightBound's ability to do Scale to Scale Replication.
LightBound, your Virtual Service provider, can combine your managed servers hosting, Shared Storage server,  voice and data services to provide you with a seamless Cloud Service that is economical and provides the business continuity that all businesses require regardless of their technical expertise.
